WGCU Public Media is Southwest Florida’s source for PBS and NPR. WGCU provides quality programming 24-hours a day and is a trusted storyteller, teacher, theater, library and traveling companion. As a member-supported service of Florida Gulf Coast University, WGCU’s mission is to provide educational programming that inspires, informs and engages our community. Serving seven counties (one-fifth of the state of Florida) with five distinct digital TV channels, two FM radio channels, two HD radio channels, and one subcarrier, WGCU delivers national and international programming and develops, produces and delivers relevant, informative and educational local programs to the Southwest Florida community.

WGCU is a member of the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network (FPREN), whose member stations stay on the air during serious weather events or other emergencies to keep citizens up to date on news and safety information.
WGCU’s broadcast programs, along with community and education initiatives, make public media vital to Southwest Florida. In addition, WGCU is reaching beyond its service area to the country and the world through its website and app.
WGCU continues to receive national, state and local awards for its locally produced television and radio content.
WGCU, virtual channel 30, is a Public Broadcasting Service member television station licensed to Fort Myers, Florida, United States, and also serving Naples and Cape Coral. Owned by Florida Gulf Coast University, it is a sister station to National Public Radio member WGCU-FM. The two stations share studios on the Florida Gulf Coast University campus in Fort Myers and transmitter facilities in unincorporated southern Charlotte County.
