Newtown Radio is a Brooklyn-based internet radio station (www.newtownradio.com) founded in 2009, focused on the music scene in Brooklyn. Named after Newtown Creek, the industrial waterway separating Queens and Brooklyn, Newtown Radio features 24x7 live programming and 30+ weekly shows hosted by local bloggers, labels, musicians and other influencers in the local scene. The station is located in Danbro Studios, a practice space in Bushwick. In addition to live programming on air, Newtown Radio has hosted a video series of live in-studio performances (The Newtown Sessions) as well as a number of concerts at local venues. Newtown Radio is an independent community-run organization funded 100% by donations.
